The Locke Street Festival Committee takes your privacy very seriously. The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) governs our use of the information that we keep about you.

You can find out more about this legislation on line but, in short, it imposes certain requirements on us and it guarantees you certain rights with regard to any personal information that we keep about you and your business. It gives you the right:

  1. To know exactly what personal information we keep about you, which the act states must be no more than is necessary to perform our legitimate business function.
  2. To know exactly to what use we put that information.
  3. To know that we employ adequate security measures to protect the information from unauthorized disclosure.
  4. To know how long we will keep that information which, in the words of the act, must be no longer than necessary to fulfill its purpose.
  5. To know what we do with it at the end of that time.
  6. To know that the information that we keep is accurate.
  7. To know that we will correct or remove any incorrect information as soon as possible after we are notified of an error.
  8. To be assured that we will not share your information with any other parties (such as marketing companies) unless we are ordered to do so.

What information do we keep ?

The only information we keep is that which you give us on the application form and a record of your attendance at the Festival, that is to say, your name, address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, public web site address, your description of your business, the services you offer, the services that you have requested from us and the services that we have provided to you.

What do we do with that information ?

Your name or company name, web site address and description are published on the Festival web site. The only other uses to which we put the information are i) to ensure that the Festival complies with relevant laws and ii) to send you an application for subsequent Festivals so that you, as an existing vendor, get a head start on applying for a space at the next Festival.

How do we protect the information?

The information is stored on computers that are compliant with relevant international technical standards and which are not directly accessible from the internet.

How long do we keep it ?

While ever you keep attending the Festival, we will keep your information on file. Should you not attend the Festival for two years, we will delete your information and you will receive no more mailings from us.

How do we dispose of the information ?

The computer record of your existence will be over-written. Any paper records will be destroyed.

Is my information accurate ?

Only you will know if the information we have about you is accurate. You can obtain a copy of the information we have by e-mailing us at info@lockestreetfestival.com.
When we send you the information that we hold, we will also send a form for you to correct any information that is wrong or, alternatively, to request that we remove it.

Who else can access my information ?

The information that is published on the Festival web site is deemed public information. With regards to any of the other information that we retain, we will not share it with anybody else unless we are ordered to do so by a competent and legitimate authority (such as a court of law).
